思維的盲點
使用印表機,白紙廢紙任意丟棄,用完白紙不去補充,反正我印完了,茶葉倒在水槽,飲料包放在公用實驗桌上,看似一些小事,其實都是一個學生真實自私小我的表現,我相信如果未來這些人的老闆看到這個景象,這些學生是很難找到工作的,很多人相信自己可以透過較好的包裝予人不同的形象,但是不要小看那些社會上有歷練的人,是誰有大智慧? 是誰耍小聰明?
經驗告訴我,能為別人著想的,思維出現盲點的機會較少,反之,只想到自己的研究的人,攤開研究計畫ㄧ看,簡直問題百出。上天有道,天公疼憨人,大概也適用於此吧!

畢業前夕 你 Master 了嗎?
(1) 對論文題目內容,是否有獨立思考判斷的能力 -> 自己尋找題目,發掘問題,提出想法
(2) 是否有應用工具(寫程式等)解決問題的能力 -> 程式能力,儀器操作
(3) 是否能清晰表達你的思維的能力 -> 別人能否聽懂你的表達
(4) 是否具有足夠理解學術論文的能力 -> 學術涵養,領域熟析程度

不ㄧ樣的同儕審查
不過有時候也會遇到知音,極為欣賞你的研究,並且毫不保留的讚美,不免讓人感動。印象中在我們三篇不同的國際性論文裡出現以下三個例子:
(1) "Nice work!"
這是我们收過最短也是最有力量的書面審核意見,加上驚嘆號後也只有三個字。就因為這位評審的意見,我们的論文被接受了,儘管另一評審強烈主張退回我們論文。
(2) "這篇論文將是未來這個領域文獻中最重要的貢獻"
我们無法得知這到底是哪位小姐先生,因此評審根本不需討好我們,於是我們就把這句話視為ㄧ句真心的讚美。也許這位評審有點言之過早,居然連未來都算進去了。不過看到這種評語,足以讓你雀躍好幾天,年輕回去好幾歲。
(3) 長篇且具體的稱讚
我們論文中的方法,實驗結果,系統架構,長處,特色,甚至連未來可推廣性,全部被點名到了,而且這位評審對論文每個面向好在哪裡居然比我們自己還清楚,我們確實從沒想到我們具備他提到的每個優點,儘管事後論文再次讀來,發現這位評審講得並沒有錯,可說是遇到知音啊! 這已經是好幾個月前的事,不過即使現在讀來,心中仍然有無限的感動。

The teacher
I applaud for the principal. No matter whether they liked vegetarian food, student protest in this way was inappropriate. The principal held himself responsible by having not educated student well.By reflections, he and the teachers improve the way they teach and the way students learn. I think a good teach is always one who constantly reflects.

去除知識的工具性,或許是進入知識領域,享受研究的大門。

幾句話 給研究所新生
做太多的時候,何不停下來想想。想太多的時候,何不開始去做。
隨時去問,我在做什麼,我懂我在做什麼嗎? 或許你就會真正發現什麼
保持察覺週遭與同時也關照內心,練習專注,有時候原來看不清楚的東西,會豁然清晰。有時候做不到的事情,會頓時做到。
經過苦,才會嘗到甜。
專注在過程,盡情去做,做好每ㄧ個你該做好的,苦反而不苦,汗水讓你快樂。如果只專注在結果,原本可以是甜的歷程,卻反而讓你覺得其苦無比。
只有在歷經過程中才有可能令人享受,ㄧ但你覺得完成,其實已經結束了。

你們的美好人格特質
我ㄧ直認為大學教育是大人的教育,大學是心靈從繭蛹蛻變,自我鬆綁自然伸展的成長場所,斤斤計較,精於算計地不是大學教育的目標,看到一些人從小被教育要出人頭地,出類拔萃,日後卻過著自私漠視他人,疏離的社會生活,無論對個人對社會都沒有益處。
與社群連結,主動伸出雙手去連結社會,給自己留ㄧ段時間做義工,哪怕只是一點時間,時時想到幫助別人,不要用等我長大當做藉口,每個人都可以根據能力,做一些事情。
想想你對什麼事情會熱情投入,引發你的生命力,然後想想生活中或社會上有哪些機會與你的熱情相符,讓你無法停止投入,這是最快樂最有意義的人生。

還需要科技救贖嗎
最近一次服務業創新的研討會,講者大聲疾呼我們需要發揮創意創造高感度的人性空間,針對老年人發展智慧型照護空間,其中舉例提到電子寵物,透過遠距技術關懷居家老人等等。
科技已經創造的問題,居然要用科技來救贖? 這是令人難以理解的。
舉例來說,為什麼遠距教學難以推動,被譏為冷冰冰的教學科技,因為學生的好奇心如何鼓勵,學習的熱情如何點燃這些研究議題比科技本身還要重要,如果不談學生的好奇心與自動自發的熱情,談遠距教育無異於緣木求魚。
同樣地,今日台灣獨居老人數字迅速爬升,老人需要的是有人味的關懷,不是這些e-Doctor, e-Nurse 擬人化的模擬科技。現代人普遍的空虛感,不少都是科技之賜,今日如果要用娛樂科技與電子寵物撫慰心靈,不正如引鴆止渴嗎?
科技本身不是問題,人才是問題所在,解決問題也應該從人去思考,怎麼可以避開這個議題,希望藉由更多的科技解決過去因為過於重視科技忽略人性所創造出來的問題?
